ROTOR
REBUILDING
Fill out our online quote form:
Squirrel cage rotors are rebuilt to OEM specifications. Bar and endring
shape, size, and material are duplicated. Laminations are replaced if
damaged. Finished Rotors are dynamically balanced, and covered by a one
year warranty. Service includes:
Endrings and bars removed. Conductivity of endrings
and bars tested separately.
Paint, varnish, rust, and scale removed.
Visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection.
Shaft runout, keyway condition, and bearing journal tolerances checked.
Core loss testing performed on lamination stack.
Rotor rebuilt with original manufacturer's material alloys.
Rotor dynamically balanced to ISO Grade G2.5 (or customer specification).
LAMINATION REFURBISH/REPLACEMENT
Not only does Industrial Motor Serivce, Inc offer
new laser cut replacement laminations, for both AC & DC machines,
but lamination refurbish/restack services as well. Each lamination is
unstacked, wire brush cleaned, roller coated with a C 5 core plate, baked,
and restacked. For more information on laser cuttings and the recoating
process visit www.lasertechnologiesinc.com
SERVO MOTOR REPAIR
We have the expertise and equipment to evaluate,
repair, and test run most models. We offer a one-year warranty on repair
and materials. We also have the capability of load testing both AC and
DC servos.
CORE LOSS TESTING
All AC stators and rotors, and all armatures are
tested prior to and after stripping to ensure the integrity of the laminations
before winding. Full documentation is made of "as found" and
"as repaired" conditions.
VACUUM PRESSURE IMPREGNATION
Utilizing a 9-foot Imprex VPI system, with Dolphs
CC1118 LV Epoxy Resin, Industrial Motor Service, Incis able to document
resin saturation of processed equipment. This process, in conjunction
with a calibrated oven monitoring system, results in an excellent solution
for your rewind needs!
AC MOTOR REPAIR
AC motors undergo extensive analysis prior to quotation
and repair. Every attempt is made to determine the root cause of failure.
Insulation condition, core condition, and mechanical fit dimensions are
recorded and compared to standards. Machine shop work is performed in-house.
Our Stator reclaiming oven is equipped with a chart recorder and water
mist over-temp suppression system. Epoxy resin is used in all rewinds.
VPI system capacity is 9' diameter by 9' deep. Random coils are wound
on Samatic numerically controlled machines. Repair procedures and quality
documentation are registered to ISO9002:1994 by Underwriter's Laboratories.
Final test voltages available up to 7200 volts.
DC MOTOR REPAIR
DC motors are analyzed for root cause of failure
during disassembly. Lead numbers are recorded for customer convenience.
Insulation resistance and mechanical fit dimensions are recorded and compared
to EASA or ABMA standards. Turning and Undercutting, as well as shaft
repairs, are performed in-house. Repair procedures and quality documentation
are registered to ISO9002:1994 by Underwriter's Laboratories. Continuous
load testing is available up to 300 Hp at 1800 rpm.
DYNAMIC BALANCING
Precision Dynamic Balancing is a feature of our
work. Industrial Motor Service, Inc began using Schenck balancing equipment
in 1967. Every rotating element is checked for proper balance. Out of
tolerance units are corrected to a balance grade appropriate for the speed
and application of the machine, unless otherwise specified by the customer.
ISO, API, and US Navy balance grades are included on our standard worksheet.
We currently have three in-house machines, ranging from 2000 lb capacity
up to 25,000 lb capacity. Our field balancing equipment includes Schenck
VP30 and VP41 analyzers.
